The Renovations Have Begun
We decided to do a bit of an interior makeover on the XL.
-Painting the interior a soft white to brighten it up
-New couch and dinette booths in espresso
-New floor thanks to my friends at Dynamax
-Recovering all of the valances
-New ironwood butcher block flip up countertop
-New electronic goodies I already posted in other threads.
If COVID-19 doesn’t pass pretty soon I’m gonna be broke.
Will post some pictures when finished but here’s the paint work that was finished today:

I kind of prefer some more vibrant colors

That's awesome. I don't see a lot of folks doing interior stuff like upgrading wall coverings. I would like to hear more about the process and how difficult it was or what you did.

We painted the bathroom in a teal color, which I didn’t show, to give a splash of color between the bedroom and the living area. Also, when the cornices are finished and installed there will be more color accents. We were tired of the darker tone with the dark wood cabinets. The white makes it feel clean, bright and bigger. Especially now that the floor is lighter than the original tile.

The process was easy:
-Hire a professional painter
-Pick a color with primer already in it.
-Remove the furniture (my contribution to the effort)
-Sit back and watch the painter put two coats on in 6 hours. Probably would have taken me 3 days!
We did not remove the wallpaper, painted right over it. Made the space seem much bigger and way brighter. It will be a couple of weeks before it is finished due to the backlog of work at the upholstery place we are using to recover the cornices.

I own a Forester 2401W MBS. Would just like to get a quote on replacing floors and upgrade the counter tops. Has anyone has done this type of remodeling/upgrade?
Would like to find someone in my area (West Texas) who could do the work.

Couch and dinette are back in and the new backsplash is in for the bathroom and kitchen. Still a lot of work in progress. DW won’t let me post progress pictures. She wants it all done before anymore pictures. Big hold up is the upholstery shop is taking forever on the cornices. Working on the new headboard for the bed today.
I think I learned some new bad words while trying to remove the existing backsplashes. Not for the faint of heart. I believe you could total the coach and those things would still be intact!

Yeah, well “most” implies “not all”. We fall into the “not all” category for all kinds of reasons. The two most impactful ones are, our March through May trip to California to see our grandkids got canceled because several of our campground reservations got canceled as they were ordered closed, so we couldn’t stay anywhere near our daughter’s house, secondly I had scheduled warranty service at Dynamax for 3 weeks in June and July.
But, maybe the 3 day drive up to Elkhart and the 3 day drive back home could count as camping!
Long overdue remodeling that DW has been asking for since we bought the coach in 2018. California bound for 3 and a 1/2 months November 27.
