Thomas Payne Power Theater Seat (odd issue, recline buttons stops working)

FYI we are aware of a few instances of the recliners seats that stop working.

Massage, heat, LED lights still work, but the recliner button becomes INOP.

We have reached out to LCI for a solution, but in the interim, if you "unplug and re-plug in the seats" they seem to work again. (that is located behind the seat and you may need to remove the seat back to get to it)

So far, I have only seen this on the 12V version (but it could be on the original 120V version...I have just not seen it). On the Isata 3, we are able just to hit the disconnect and that would accomplish the same thing.

We have the 120 V version in our Georgetown and just had a similar fault. One day one of the Thomas Payne recliners started working backwards. IN ran it OUT and OUT ran it IN. Everything else worked. I unplugged it from the outlet for one minute and it went back to normal and has stayed working for the last week.

My EE thought maybe it was their DC to DC convertor, but your situation might eliminate that.

On the 120V version, it has a power brick for each seat that takes whatever voltage and converts it, two plugs. On the version we get today, it has a DC to DC converter that combines the two seats into a single 12V plug. He thought maybe it was pulling too much voltage and was "browning out" the DC to DC controller.

Sounds to me like they might have an issue with the controls themselves.

We've had them for 2.5 years without problems. We were plugged in for two weeks and my wife noticed one footrest was slightLy out so she hit IN and it went OUT. I ran it several times and it stayed backwards so I power-cycled it.

I had a similar problem with one of ours. Turned out that one of the pins in one of the connectors in the back of the chair was pushed back . Once I reseated it haven't had any problems.

Most likely an issue with the controller. Its a box under the seat that the 110 line plugs in to. You can buy replacements on Amazon.

This has been identified as a voltage drop which causes the DC to DC converter to go into lock out on the motor.

LCI is proposing an increase in wire size. The current motor is a 24vdc motors and can be powered using the 120vac to 24vdc converters that come with the recliners.

So the fix is to go back to them being 120v supplied (which they were and we asked them to be native 12v so you did not need the inverter on to operate them)

Parts can get you that piece since they ship with every recliner today.
