Transfer Switch

I have a 2017 Force. Has anyone had the transfer switch fail ? MH is plugged in
at home to a 30 amp. service. Went outside and could hear a chatter noise, sounded like a thump-thump. Traced it back to the transfer switch. Unplugged it at the house and noise stopped, plugged it back in and it started again. I called the manufacturer (SOUTHWIRE) and explained what was happening and they said either low voltage or the unit is no good. I checked voltage and all was good. I pulled the cover and made sure all connections were tight. We were leaving for a 4 day trip but wouldn't need a 120v because we would be boondocking and I could use the generator. I ordered a new switch and I would have it when we got back. Came home and plugged it in to see if it was the same way. To my surprise it was working. I had received the new one so I decided to keep it, which was good because two days later it started the thumping noise again. The noise is the switch going on and off, unable to stay in the on position, not making contact. Has anyone had this problem and did you change it yourself or did you bring it to a shop. Any ideas or suggestions would be helpful. Thanks

Never had a problem on my DX3 but a friend bought a new 5th wheel and the day he brought it home and plugged it in the transfer switch failed. It kept making chattering noise and wouldn’t connect on the shore power but worked on the generator power. The factory sent him a new one and I changed it for him, pretty simple and straight forward.

Yes, I had mine failed 2016 DX3 while on a trip in New York, had to install a by-pass on the shore power switch until I got home to make a appointment the generator switch worked fine and funny thing Southwire says they’re not rebuidable/repairable.
