Truma Rotary Control & Decalcification kit

An owner asked a question via private message, but it is an often asked question and it is helpful for others to be able to see the answer so I have moved it to a public thread.

"Hi Brian,
Still going through my new Isata3. In the drawer in the kitchen. I found a bag that said decalcification kit. It contains the controller and cable for the tankless water heater. Is that something Dynamax or the dealer should have installed? I assume I need that to control the different modes on the water heater. I noticed in another idea that they found the same thing in the drawer.

Thanks,
Jim"

The short answer is No, this is not something that Dynamax or the dealer should have installed.

The long answer was already answered in another post a while back.

My post #4 & 6. (Having been personally left standing there undressed, not getting hot water, with the Truma dial in the ON position...that is when I decided to stop installing them)
