Used 2017 DX3 purchase - Warranty and Fault Code/Camera/Electrical Questions

We are close to purchasing a used 2017 DX3 37BH, and are looking for some help with a few questions please.

The original Dynamax 2 year warranty period runs about two more months. Does the Dynamax warranty transfer to a new owner?

The unit has a few issues that I know about, as listed below. Are you familiar with these, and do you think that they are big issues to resolve?
  1. 1/2 of the awning LED strip won't light up
  2. The back up and side cameras show for a few minutes on the radio screen, but then disappear. They re-appear after your restart the rig, but then disappear again after a few minutes.
  3. There is a fault code that reads:

    SA: 33 Bulkhead
    SPN: 6918
    FMI: 7

Not sure about all your issues, but I can say that the fault code you are getting, is identical with my 2016 Force. I've had my unit for two years and get this code ever single startup, I just clear it and go.

I believe the warranty from Freightline is 3 years and Cummins motor 5 years. You can call Freightliner with the VIN and they should be able to verify this.

I get one as well, similar but I cant remember it off hand. When I searched around online it had something to do with the smart switches. With all the mutliplexing the bulkhead module is looking for and not seeing a switch. If I recall I've seen an empty harness spot under the dash as well. In 3 years and 35k miles, I've just ignored it. At some point I may have the time and energy to track it down, but until then it hasnt bothered me.

Dynamax warranty does not transfer, but the Freightliner should I believe.

I can help you a little:
1.Dynamax 2 year warranty is not transferable.
2. Freightliner's 2 year warranty will run out on you soon.
3. Cummings engine and 3200 gear is five year and I believe it is transferable.
4. The fault code that you are referring to, is a "missing smart switch"
that is not installed on our years 2016, 2017. It is mechanical and
not used, so I am told by Freightliner, I have had it since day 1. I have
23,500 miles with that fault.
5. Camera issue sounds like loose wiring maybe behind radio unit.
6. Awning LED'S strip maybe damaged. Carefree has the parts and you
can purchase led strip from them.

Call Carefree 303-469-3324 and they will send you the awning lights. They are out of warranty but not that expensive. You could get some of amazon but I would just purchase through Carefree as they were very helpful. Best of luck.
