On the West Coast the National Forests are closed. Mostly I camp in the backyard at the camp site. We have a million acres of BLM land on the other side of the fence. Going for the morning hike in a little while with my dog.

Camping at the marina campground in Pontiac, Missouri on Bull Shoals lake. Perfect weather and smooth water now.

They couldn't come up with a better name for a campground? That may in fact have cabins?

LOL Brian!
The campground does have cabins and none are burnt!

The small village of Burnt Cabins was settled in the 1700's and native Indians may have had something to do with burning some of the cabins that were along the Forbes trail back in the day.

There is still standing, an historic grist mill from the period next to the campground and this campground was originally called "Ye Olde Mill Campground" but has recently been realigning to the name to Burnt Cabins.

And there is your daily history lesson!

Its a cozy little campground nestled next to the PA turnpike and an often visited quick getaway for us as it's only about an hour and a half from home.

Great place. Fish lake and south on hwy 89 is all my old stomping ground since back in the 70's. Have a great time. I'll be up there next spring.

Red face

NOWHERE!
My wife says yesterday “Why don’t we go camping this weekend?”
Tried to get reservations for full hookups at our county park, booked full ;(
Electric only available, I was willin’, She wasn’t.
Have reservations now for next weekend at a small site beside the camp host, only full hookup available!

This will be the first time this year!
On a happy note, I think I’ll be able to pay off the camper this next month

We’re at Gold Beach Oregon
Couldn’t find a site in our home state of Ca
A lot of extra driving but worth it
We’ve had the beach to ourselves 4 out of 5 days and our golden doodle is in her element

We arrived at Lakeside Resort in Gasburg, Virginia yesterday, at least that is what the Coast to Coast directory says. GPS couldn't find it unless you put in Valentines, Virginia. And when we got here, the sign says Lake Gaston Resort. We were pre registered with confirmation number, but there was no package at gate for us. He told us to find a spot and register next day (today). We are here for a week, then back home for a couple of days and then to Shenandoah Crossing Resort and Country Club in Gordonsville, Virginia for 2 weeks. Will let everyone know how Lakeside/Gaston Resort works out.

Hope everyone's having fun and being safe. Ron

Just signed in at registration and everything is good. Rear nice young lady (Autumn) in registration. Was unsure about this place, but Autumn was so friendly and helpful that I think our stay here will be fine. They close the Coast to Coast side on 15th of October, so it is very quiet here. Hope to do some fishing.

Stay safe. Ron
