Nice job. Did the grill surround come in black, or did you have that painted? I know on our M2 106, ours does not have the surround like the 112. Just curious.

I purchased a raw plastic surround and painted it satin black with flex agent.

The chrome is too hard to get paint to stick, even with a self-etching primer, so that was the one bit of chrome on an XL that had to stay. We have since found that FL does a "molded in color" surround, so now we are buying that so that we can do a "true" black out on the XL.

Last hurdle are the horns.

Thanks for the insight, Brian.
2nd the comment about black sticking to chrome. The bug/rock chips on the mirrors are a real challenge. Have had to repaint the mirror twice in one year of ownership.

Is there anything you can do when it is in for warranty work at the factory in July?

You can now get the mirror backs molded in black.

That would be great. Will research Freightliner part numbers. Please let me know if you are aware of these.

MEK 514147330 is LH main case
MEK 514145330 would be the RH main case
MEK 564155330 is LH/RH convex case

Where are you planning to mount the horns? And will there be options for longhorns or ram horns? [emoji41]

I'm looking at Grovers and Air Horns of Texas. But I might just wait and see what comes on the new Force when it gets here. If its the duck call I'm swapping out quickly. BC?

If you got the Chrome package it gets dual air horns on the Roof. If you get the XL, it gets dual air horns on the roof. otherwise you get the stock air horn.
