2019 32SKT Awning

So, first time using the awning and it tore out of the side of the camper! It was raining, and the awning goes over the slide so it is limited how much tilt you can put on it. Sigh... waiting to hear from the dealer, but we are convinced it is a design flaw having the awning cover the slide. Thoughts?

Sad to say, they'll likely tell you it is "operator error" and you shouldn't have had it out while it was raining.

You might contact Sabre directly to talk with the warranty manager.

Can you post some pictures?

With it over the slide, even if it filled with water, the slide should have supported the weight from causing it to tear off the side of the R/V.

I've seen arms bend before it tore from the side of the camper.
Did it pull the track off or did it actually tear the fabric?

Hopefully they fix you up. I have seen quite a few where the awning covers the slide....at least they shade the slide when deployed.

The same issues ours had. In our case, it wasnt raining (literally a sprinkle) and it was out for about 10 seconds. Ripped off the wall (very first time we used it). Come to find out there is no backer for any screws to go into, just fiberglass and foam. FR denied it as "wind damage" but after many (12+) months and a legal notice, they're rebuilding quite a bit of ours because of the issues we've had. We're supposed to drop it off soon.

I brought my new 2019 sabre home after second time out.
Put awning out to clean and the left side two bracket screws just pulled out.
No stud, just fiber and foam.
So not wanting to lose the rig for weeks at the dealer, I fixed it with in an hour.
Placed two larger lag screws with liquid nails, plus added two more.
Tight now.
Cheap forest river construction.

So now you have 4 screws into just fiber and foam and nothing into structure.

I miss how that fixes it or maybe you're just saying it's a temporary fix because you didn't want to lose it to the dealer for weeks.

Confused.

Well , the wall is only 2 1/2 inches .
There was no way to get into it without really tearing it up.
There is no stud behind that part.
The two very small screws, not lags, at the top held all the weight.
So there are holes in rail for more attachments.
So I placed not two but 4 larger lags for more support.
I am a 70 year old with a lot of fixing experience. This repair will work .
