Front Gray Water Tank Gate Valve Sabre 36QBOK

has anyone changed out the front gray tank gate valve on a 2015 Sabre 36 QBOK-7. I got the 4 bolts out of it but the plumbing is so tight I can't seem to get enough separation in the pipes to get the valve to come out. Looking for suggestions.

Sort of, and it's not good news.

I had a RV tech who was going to pull my black tank valve and replace it because it was very hard to pull. Due to the tightness, he bailed on the idea. Instead, he drilled a hole in the valve body and put a grease zerk in it and pumped grease in. It made a huge difference in my ability to pull the handles.

My problem is the handle pulled completely out of the valve so I have no choice but to replace it.

He was literally talking about loosening the tanks and lowering them so he could work better or something. It sounded terrible (and for me, expensive).

I was able to get the gray tank to move very slightly and able to get the old valve out. Now to see if I can get the new valve in place this afternoon. Fingers crossed.

Not much room to get the pipes to separate.

Be careful to not put too much angular force on the pipe/tank connection. From my experience that is one of the weak links in the system and it is very easy to cause a leak.

You could cut the pipe on the other side of the ells and use a Fernco to splice back together.

Hmmm, IF your only problem was that the handle came off of the stem, new handles are readily available. You might want to keep that old valve, place a new handle on it, and you have a spare

The handle pulled completely out of the valve, its not just the threaded extension part. I just stuck it back in the valve in the picture. This old valve is shot.
