As you can see, not all of the bolt holes were used on ours. 2 independent repair folks came out and said the same thing:

1) The holes are obviously stripped and show no wind damage (there is no fiberglass damage, etc.)

2) They are all confused as to why on arm has 3 screws in it and the other has all 5 (I believe) holes used.

The very top just had some caulking on it. There other 2 holes are easy to see. Where the bracket broke is where the 3rd hole is.

The top one completely missed the stud somehow, the bottom one was stripped out, the middle one seemed to be somewhat fastened. Both repair guys stated they do not know how it passed QA. I guess the way these work is it pushes back against the outside wall for support, which is likely why it split on the only bolt with a grip.

Do you have Pics of the whole awning arm?

After about 2 months of back and forth, I finally just had a lawyer draft up a letter. Within 2 hours I had a phone call and my awning was 100% covered in replacement including the on-site call being paid for so I didnt have to move.

Sucks I had to do that, it would've been nice if FR would've just done right the first time. I'll grab a few photos of the new awning installed. You can CLEARLY see that the new awning is moved over about 2 inches (on center) and bolted in. The repairman was 100% sure that only 1 bolt (out of the 3 used) on the entire left arm made it into the stud, the rest were just into the outer shell/foam.

The new awning has all 5 factory supplied bolts installed on each of the sides.

Glad to hear its resolved and thanks for following up. Please post pics of the new awning and bolt pattern when you can.

Mt awning is secured with 4 bolts on each arm but I'm very paranoid that I may suddenly lose it.

Attached are the photos of the new awning. The right side was always fine, so just 5 bolts were used instead of 3.

The left side, also is now attached with 5. 2 up top, two in the middle holes, 1 at the very bottom under the plastic cover.

You can also see the holes in the side of the trailer yet where the old awning was bolted in... Clearly not a stud.

What's the plan for the holes in the side? Clearly that needs addressed.

Without reskinning the entire side, not much can be done. Silicone is ran on it now to cover the holes but they are still visible unfortunately

Yay....1 year later and we're getting somewhere with warranty. I'm excited I get to bring it back to the manufacturer next week for some rebuilding!

Great! What are they going to rebuild? Are they doing something different with the awning brackets or propane or...? I was just thinking of the awning problems described here. One of my awning arms has always had a little play at the top. Seems to be getting slightly worse with use. I added a spacer and and extra bolt. Hopefully that'll hold it in place. Thanks for sharing!

Yal you all talk about 2018 model.
I just bought a new sabre 2019.
Out second time and left two very small screws at the top just pulled out.
F warranties and stupid dealer repairmen,
I placed liquid nails in the holes, placed larger lag screws in same. Plus added two more screws where some should be.
Obviously no stud .
Don't think my awning will pull out now.Click image for larger version
