300 lbs tongue weight sounds way low with the 4500 lb boat. I agree with the others this does not sound like a good idea towing a double axle 4500 lb trailer behind a fiver.

Its a dual axle so most of the weight is on the axles. I'll find out for sure though.

The boat is around 3400 pounds. I am just estimating the trailer weight.

Palle man, I would take the advice of the people on here vs what 'the dealer' did, or did not tell you. Way more product specific product knowledge on here than 'your sales person'. Is it worth the possibility of the damage, or accident based on a possibly mis informed decision on your part?

Definitely get your boat weighed.
Tongue wt for your boat trailer should be 10-15% of your total wt. I have a 22' Boat on a dual axle trailer. At the scales it is 4660 lbs with a 614 lb tongue wt.

That's a heavy load to add.

I met a factory rep a few weeks back at a RV show and asked what would happen if I had a hitch installed so I could double tow a small trailer with a quad and got the answer I expected...

"You will void the frame warranty" was his answer...

We didn't discuss handling a second trailer that required brakes with the 5er.
