I do use Mobil 1 0w30 ESP X1. Meets MB oil spec. 229.52. NAPA runs sales a few times per year. Have it as low as $5.99 qt. I keep enough on hand for the next change.
I use the Mann oil filter, which is what MB uses most of the time.
Have not replaced the copper seal on the drain plug to date. I do flip it and reinstall. No leaks at all.

2x Mike's comment. Easiest oil change you will ever perform. Topside cannister filter, easy access to the drain plug. The Hardest part is having a pan big enough for 13 quarts of oil.
