24W water filter

Just discovered that the water filter housing under sink has come loose. Looking at it, the only way I can see to reattach it is to remove the sink. Has anyone else had this happen? I guess I could relocate it and re-pipe it. Any thoughts? Thanks.

Things I've seen on the forum do away with the filter plumb it straight through others have said they are a problem anyway. They can leak or break causing a flood.

Will do the straight thru plumbing too.....I use an outside filter and that gives more cabinet space.
What is needed to do it? Pictures?

A six inch pipe nipple (brass or quality plastic) with standard 1/2" pipe thread will simply replace the entire filter assembly. All you need to do is unthread the brass pipe adapters that connect to the filter assembly and substitute the pipe nipple. The use of Teflon tape or an appropriate pipe dope is best. Nothing to it.

This is what I was told a couple of years ago about removing the filter housing and it worked.
