Another MB Recall 2022100017

If you don't know already MB issued a recall that will not allow the sale of a new vehicle and it will either be stuck at the dealership or the manufacturer for the next many of months. Either I am the most unlucky person to ever purchase an RV or Mercedes Benz just doesn't have their crap together. Anyhow I have documented my journey below which is complete craziness.

Chronology:
- July 2021, Ordered Mercedes Benz Forest River 2401T
- March 2022, RV Complete and ready to ship
- March 2022, Torsion linkage recall no available parts and do not ship order
- September, linkage repaired and RV cleared to ship
- September, RV had catastrophic engine failure and will need a new motor with ETA 2 months. Forest River worked with to get another 2023 unit instead.
- November, RV is at dealer and I get a message that we cannot sale you the RV due to recall on the very day I am trying to close
- Today, I received an email from Mercedes Benz hoping to deploy a fix in 1Q 2023.

So Mad

Unfortunately, you're not the only one. Someone else on this forum was having trouble purchasing the MB due to a recall. Can't remember how that one turned out.

I have attached recall if anyone wants to look at it. Looks like it affect MB sprinter back to 2018 so a dealership will not be able to sale you a unit until resolved.

Sorry to hear of your MB troubles. I’m sure it’s frustrating.

When we downsized our class C and bought new in 2019, I very seriously considered a Sprinter based motorhome. We ultimately chose to stay with Ford, to avoid all the drama that comes with Mercedes-Benz. That doesn’t help the OP, but their story validates our concerns. We’ve had zero problems or recalls on the Ford chassis in 3.5 years.

I hope the OP is made right and gets a working RV soon.

So sorry for your trouble! I can only imagine how frustrating this is for you. It seems my RV is also affected by the parking brake recall. I'm just lucky that I already purchased it before the recall was announced.

Good luck to you!
