auxiliary battery?

I am shopping on line for new chassis battery and finding batteries that fit my 2016 sprinter including a small auxiliary battery that powers things like stereo and smaller parasitic amp draws (maybe that's why my steps don't work).
Where is this battery? under driver seat like the chassis battery?

Thanks for responding.

My 2016 Sprinter based RV takes an H8 (grp 49) AGM battery. Never heard of any aux battery. If sitting for a while I usually unplug the ground wire by the accelerator pedal. If that is not disconnected, there are parasitic draws that will drain the battery but as far as I know, that disconnects everything.

this is the battery that both autozone and Advanced auto say is called out for my Sprinter, in addition to the chassis battery.

All I can say is, my 2016 MB 3500 Sprinter chassis does not have that. I'd call a dealer and ask where it is, or ask AutoZone for the install location. The Grp 49 is under the floor board - there is not room there for another battery of any size and I have never seen one under the hood.

Chassis Battery

When you say chassis battery/aux are you describing the engine compartment battery or the battery/batteries that power the coach when not plugged into shore power?

On my 2017 MBS FR Forester the "coach" batteries are under the second entrance step.

my coach batteries are under steps like yours. I am told the chassis (starting) battery is under driver seat and according to Autozone and others, there is another smaller battery for auxilliary loads. That would make a total of 4 batteries.

I will have to take a look under driver seat.

On a 2016 the starting battery is not under the drivers seat. It is more in between the seats and forward a bit. It's easy to access. Lift the floor mat and remove about 3 screws. It appears some MB vehicles (cars) post 2019 may have an aux battery - the 2016 does not.

The chassis battery is under the floor, in front of the drivers seat. Remove plastic floor panel to access. Easy.
