Battery replaced & now restraint system errors
I had the battery in my 2016 Prism replaced. Now I have an error light on the dash indicating a restraint system error. The codes are pointing to the airbag crash sensors (both sides).
Also a P193600 - Generator switch off Open/Short to ground.
Any ideas to get rid of the errors?

Believe a Prism 24 G is a Mercedes Sprinter Motorhome.
My only thoughts - find someone with a compatible OBD2 reader and ask him/her to reset the codes, then see if they reappear. Alternatively disconnect the chassis battery (maybe use the disconnect switch hidden under the driver side floor?) for a while and hope that resets the codes. If the codes don’t reappear your good- otherwise I would take it to my dealer.

I can take it back to the shop tomorrow and see if their code reasder will reset the codes. My reader will list them, but won't do a reset.

My 2011 Nissan Titan had the same problem.
The cure for that was:
Insert key and turn it to the on position. (DO NOT START)
As soon as the airbag light shuts off, turn it off and remove the key.
REPEAT 4 more times.
The nissan issue said 3 times should be enough, but mine took 5.
Every time you cycle the key, the computer resets, and the repeated cycle gets past the normal bootup and tells the computer to reset the warning lights.
IF that doesn't do it, look it up under your particular vehicle model.

Had this problem on my Sprinter after moving the seat back on the track and the seat sensor wire disconnected.
Used a code reader to cancel the "error" after re-connecting and all was good.
Your Mercedes dealer can do it for you but they will charge you as much as a code reader will cost.
Ask me how I know.

Check all the connectors under the drivers seat. I was getting restraint errors and it was a disconnected plug under seat.

I ran my 2018 with the seat out (seat wire disconnected) and had a warning light. shut of engine, installed seat, plugged wire back in, started engine and light went out.

I'm not seeing a seat belt warning. I'm getting the restraint system warning.
I'm wondering if unplugging the actual airbag creash sensors and replugging them would clear it. I've checked the airbag controller fuses and they are good.
I don't see any broken/disconnected wires under the drivers seat, but I am getting error codes for both driver and passenger sensors.

I bet you have an yaw rate sensor that needs to be calibrated. I just did a rear main seal on a vw product and had a similar issue. I know it is a different beast but maby try to look to see if a procedure is available.

Would replacing the battery cause a yaw error?

Look to see if it may be under the steering angle sensor calibration also. Most of the time you start the car make sure you can have 20 feet to move and turn the wheel from lock to lock starting at center end back at center then drive foward 20 feet. Some cars do this in park/ neutral some need to do the full process in drive.

And the yaw error shows up as bad airbag crash sensors on both sides?

Follow Up
I had the codes cleared yesterday - most were low voltage codes on various control modules. They washed the motor home and charged me the promised $195. I took the invoice to Pep Boys and they reimbursed me. Almost a happy ending.
On the way home, a dump truck cut me off, crossed the fog line to the right and sprayed me with gravel, taking out the windshield. Good thing I carry $0 deductible on glass!

Glad you got your codes cleared. We have to have our windshield replaced after a stone hit it on the way back from Florida. Because of the size of the windshield he said they have to take the hood off. Doesn’t look like that will be a problem.

Yes hood comes off. Take a picture of the top of the prop that holds the hood up. There is s spring in there and they might forget how it goes back in.

Interesting that the hood coomes off - I wasn't aware of that and the gal at the glass shop didn't mention it. I'll be sure to mention ask when we set the date,

Sadly, the spring won't be an issue as the bracket that holds the prop up broke off a couple years ago.
