Binding door strut

I had to replace the gas coach door strut on 2017 2401MBS when the OEM rusted out.

I figured it was an easy job but in spite of spending almost $70 trying to find one that works, I'm still strutless.

With every brand I've purchased the bottom of the screen and main door rub against the strut when the door is within 8 inches of the frame. Both doors also hit the attach point on the stairs. I can force them closed but doing so is loosening the screws that hold the screen door in place.

Is there a strut that has a smaller diameter tube and lower profile attachment point?

Have you tried contacting the Mfg directly to order the part from them to get one that does not rub.

Logical solution but the rust on the existing strut obliterated the brand. I was hoping someone in this forum might have the OEM still installed and share that info

Many thanks, Charlene. I found it! Oddly, using your link my web browser warned of a security issue. But your detailed description in a search brought me to:

https://www.futuresalesrv.com//index...product_id=119, the only difference to yours was the www.futuresalesrv.com site.

OREddie, glad I could help. I don't know what's up with the link, but I'll edit and remove it.
