Clearing Maintenance code

OK guys I'm doing my 1st oil change tomorrow (2016 Sunseeker 11,700 miles) and would like to know how to clear the code that has the wrench saying "I'm a 150 days passed service".

Just purchased this RV 3 weeks ago so no blasting me for driving it with the light, ok.....

by the way the lady did say they brought it in to the Dealer and the guy said the Synthetic oil was fine is what she told me. She's been honest and upfront about everything so far.

Thanks for all the help.

Go online and do a search for your model year Sprinter "Maintenance Reset". There are videos that run you through the procedure. The procedure will be determined by the type of steering wheel you have. Steering wheel controls or not. Both are easy.

Here is the Link for NO steering wheel controls.

With steering wheel controls.

There may be others you can find.

Be sure you are using MB spec 229.52 oil and I recommend using the OEM Mann filter. HU 821 X

One example of the 229.52 oil is Mobil 1 ESP 0 or 5w 30 - Autozone has a 5 qt jug for $33.99 and $9.99 for the 1 qt btl.

There are list of compatible oils on the Internet.

Motor oil service intervals in the owner's manual will specify X,XXX miles or (usually) 12 months whichever comes first. My personal oil analysis experience with premium brand pure synthetic motor oil indicates the "months" factor is useless, the oil wears out from miles not sitting in the crankcase. This applies to pure synthetics not conventional motor oil.

But it's cheap to do an oil and filter change and get a zero based maintenance level. And items like break fluid and antifreeze have time expirations regardless of miles.

YMMV.

That worked great--took a few times but it cleared the Code.

Thanks
