Dometic 15000 BTU heat pump

heat or cold sound like 747 flying through the RV when it running. How to quiet it down so grand kids in dinette bed can sleep. Fan is set to auto. My friend 2019 sunseeker with atwood heat pump is so quiet.

Thanks

Thanks
Close the dump vent directly under the unit which is blowing down on the kids... Nook me two years before I got up there to clean before I saw I had a closable vent. It will reduse the noise by 50%

It will reduce the noise but not enough. The furnace uses LP but is a little quieter.

Closing dump is nice, but it reduces effectiveness over 50%. You could turn it off and uses fans. I deal with the noise - better than waiting for a cool down and sweating - IMHO. I only use the closed vent slide at night after the place cools down after a return from the day's events.

We got tired of the noise and replaced it with the Atwood unit. We can now have a nice conversation. The dump valve helps but it was minimal.

You are right about Atwood unit. How much is it with installation? If you don't mind?

Here is the post I made regarding our replacement of the Dometic noise maker with the Atwood.
