Extended Warranty

I know this has been talked about before. We just took delivery of a 2017 Sunseeker 2400R. We were offered a 72 month extended warranty. I go back and forth if I should throw down on getting it-thoughts please.

Thanks
Jim

Is it with the manufacturer or a third party? The price is also negotiable while you are dealing for the RV. If you have already signed the papers on the RV probably not so much room to bargain, but I would try. They offered me a 60 month on my Forester and I got them to go 72 months for half of what they originally wanted for the 60.

FR doesn't offer a 72 month warranty on anything.
It offers a standard 1 year factory warranty 5all their RVs.
They also offer an optional 2nd year factory warranty for their towables, which runs from $100 to $250, depending on the brand.

Yes it's a third party and they want about 5k for it that's just hard to swallow

That is a bit high. Mine was 3,500 for a motor home. I usually don't go the extended warranty route, but these things are so complicated I went for it in this case. Hopefully, it will turn out to be a good decision. I have a lifetime extended warranty on my 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee, and have 155,000 miles on it now. This warranty has paid for itself and more. It was a good decision. I hope to keep the Jeep another five years anyway. If you are interested in the extended warranty, offer them what you would actually pay for it. All they can say is no. I found that they are always negotiable. Good luck.

I bought a 60 month for our 2017 Forester 2402WS for $2,500 last year. Have not needed it but was torn about it's value. 5k sounds way too much. The price is negotiable.

Way too high, should be half that, or less.
