Latch recall??

Is it a scam? I received a voice mail message from John Harrison with NICSA (NITSA?) regarding an issue with latches (which latch(s) weren't specified) on my 2017 2401MB WS asking for VIN info. I returned his call but haven't heard back yet. Is anyone aware of this?

I think this is a SCAM. I have never received any phone call for any recalls I have had on any vehicle. I have received post cards and letters in the mail for recalls from the vehicle manufactures listing my VIN and other pertinent information. The manufacture already knows the affected vehicles and the owners as long as you have kept them informed of purchases.

PHISHING! The agency that handles recalls is NHTSA, and they will never call or notify you. That is the manufacturer's responsibility and it is traditionally done via a formal letter.
