Lippert step safety recall

On the Sprinter, there can be a risky Lippert step failure. Other models are affected also. I have not seen notice of this recall until the steps broke on my 2014 Coachmen Prism, and post it here for information.

If you have these steps, check them out and get serviced before an ankle is hurt.

According to the recall notice:
Quote:
Single electric step assemblies and sliding box assemblies are not being recalled.
I think most (all?) of our MBS motorhomes are single step.

Lippert step recall

I had one of the two-step recalled units on my previous Sprinter coach. I didn't discover the recall until the step broke and collapsed while I was entering the coach. It could have resulted in a very bad fall but I had a firm grip on the assist bar when it happened.

If you have a Lippert 2 step unit I strongly suggest you follow the link retrieve posted to see if yours are subject.
