The choice would be based on expected use. If you desire to dry camp in summer heat or winter cold a diesel will run longer on the fuel on board.


It comes with higher service costs and more maint expenses , ad more smell, but thats the price of being your own power company.


For folks that go to camp grounds or boondock in temperate climate that might not need a gen set for months on end , the propane is far more reliable for operating the first time after months of non use.
