I really do not like the wheel simulators that came with our "W". They just don't look "right" to me...
So I'm looking at other options. I know Alcoa makes some very nice wheels, unfortunately they are outrageously expensive!
And their weight has to be awful when compared to an OEM wheel.
So I'm looking at other options. There are several local shops in the Atlanta area that offer chrome or powder coating for the OEM wheels. The price is attractive but I'm concerned about durability as we will be going to Alaska and other areas with gravel and dirt roads. I haven't had chromed steel wheels on anything for a long time...and I recall correctly those rusted really bad around the lug nuts. I've never had powder coated wheels. Does anyone have any recent experience with either of these options?
Edit: With either of these options I'll be using the M-B OEM Sprinter "hub caps" to cover the lug nut area.
Thanks,
