Hi all. We just purchased a 2016 FR sun seeker 24M Mercedes chassis MH, we're not new to camping, we had a FR R-Pod for 5 years, as well as 20+ years live-aboard a Lake Michigan 38' sailboat (weekends in season and charter trips) and have done a fair amount of tent/backpacking camping. So we're used to most things/systems camping related. What we're not used to: the arctic pgk; is it powered off vehicle charging? Will it run down the house battery when the engine is off? Is the house battery charged by the vehicle when driving? Is it best to run the engine when running out the slide (it's a full side) or is it best to run the generator while the slide is going in or out? Thanks for any help or advise. PP

Hi and Welcome to FRF!
Suggest that you post your model-specific questions in the MB Sprinter Chassis sub-forum. You'll get better answers from members that own the same model.

Arctic pack - as in tank heaters? Yes - powered by battery (12v) in my 2016 Mbs Prism. House batteries are charged when the engine is on (house batteries must be turned on). No opinion on slide - I have two and never move them with the engine/generator running. I prefer to be plugged into shore power when doing slides, but not a big deal.

As AudiDudi stated, tank heaters run off house batteries. I always either plug into shore power, run engine, or generator when extending or retracting slides, or the BigFoot auto leveling system.

I always run the generator to power the slides properly. Of course shore power is fine also. I donít bother running the engine for moving the slide. I feel the slides are just too much of a power draw for the batteries and the last thing you want is a low voltage error on the slide controllers.
