Rear driving lights

My rear driving lights stay on. The only way to turn them off is to unplug the fuse. Any ideas why they are staying on?

We might be able to help if you identified the year, make and model of your RV. And, by rear driving lights…..do you mean running lights as opposed to brake lights?

Identifying your vehicle might help. Is the vehicle your motorhome, toad, or tow vehicle? Have there been any electrical changes recently?

Thank you

My rv is a 2017 Mercedes prism coachman . The rear driving lights don’t turn off unless I unplug the fuse. It’s not the brake lights. They work when I push the brakes.

Moved thread from the Tech and Repair section to the Motorhome section's Mercedes Benz Sprinter Chassis sub-forum since the OP's questions are specific to a MBZ Sprinter chassis.

Trying to help you again.
Rear driving lights is not a common term.
Do you mean your running lights?
Are you talking about your back up or reverse lights?
Is this a new problem, or did you just acquire this motorhome?

BTW it’s a Coachmen Prism spelt with an “e”.

Sounds like he's talking about the docking lights.

I suspect that he's talking about his taillights. This is a common problem with the Forest River Sprinter motorhomes. These motorhomes use a trailer light controller to run the all of the lights at the rear of the motorhome (as well as the 7 way trailer connector). Forest River doesn't always mount these controllers in a dry location and the controllers often fail. There have been MANY discussions about the problem and, if I remember correctly, at least one recall.

Search for "taillight" in the Solera and Mercedes Benz Sprinter forums for more discussion than you might want...

The tail lights came on during the night while we were camping. I’ve had this rv for 3 years and this is the 1st time it’s happened .

I agree with DaveJordan. It is the controller located at the back bumper area and gets lots of spray from the tires. I replaced 2 before relocating the controller in a dry box. It is either a hopkins or curt controller.

Your problem is in the scope of repairs a pretty straightforward fix.

As your ownership experience grows, there's a certain amount of r&r that comes along with enjoying your rv.

Hope this fixes your issue
