Renntech ECU Upgrade

Anyone try this ECU upgrade? Supposed to be good for 80hp and 97 ft-lb increase.

Renntech has a pretty good rep with their other Mercedes tuning products.

$1200 isn't cheap but the hp and torque gains are pretty substantial.

Just installed the Renntech program using the handheld tuner. Amazing results and an increase in fuel economy

Can you provide actual results as to performance and mileage? Does the tune void the warranty?

Without a Dyno its hard to qualify the power and torque gains but pulling the hills in the poconos and upstate NY towing a 2 door wrangler with the cruise set at 68 i would drop down to 50-55 in spots now cruise maintains at 68-70. In addition there is power to pass on the left as well. As far as mileage, we typically average 12.4 fully loaded and the past trip was 12.9. The programmer uses a hand held tuner so you can switch back to stock program at anytime. Renntech is a huge MB dealer in Florida so I am confident they know how to tweak the ECU without causing component failures. Being in the Diesel engine business my whole career I haven’t seen much warranty denied unless it was a clear maintenance issue.

Is your plan to turn the tune to stock prior to maintenance each time?

I do all my own maintenance. Would only use the dealer if i had a warranty failure and then i would tune it back to stock.
