Roof question

I'm about to purchase this 2016 with 11,600 miles.
It was stored outside up in the mountains about 6700' in Arizona.

I am back home now in the Valley but I did take a picture of the roof. Is this normal sealant?

There were some torrential rainstorms, not sure when.

They did admit it had a slight leak that dripped by the driver upper left corner. They said it was repaired professionally by the dealer and there are no leaks. They seem like an honest old couple and are neighbors to my friends. So far everything has been legit.

Looks about normal.
With a six year old roof, you should inspect those sealants for cracks and put more on it if necessary. If there's no mold smell or stains on the inner ceiling, you're probably safe. Unfortunately, there is no 100% guarantee and sometimes there are leaks that aren't discovered early. Most sellers are honest, but you are buying a six year old rig and you're probably going to have some maintenance issues.

Ok Thanks for the info.

I have not purchased it yet and it's still up in the mountains. So I don't have access to it.

It only has 11600 miles but the Arizona sun can be brutal.

What kind of sealant should I use?

Thanks

RV "self leveling" sealant is available at every "RV" store. I'd have it done professionally at least this time -- someone to blame if it's not done right and a good toe in the water for the expenses of small motor homes.

Dicor self leveling on non vertical areas. I don't recommend silicone based caulk. Dicor is a good product.

I also recommend covering your awnings with vinyl rain gutters to protect them from the sun. The gutter outside lip will hook into the water channel too help hold in place. I softened the gutter bottom edge with heat gun and bent it in enough to provide a gripping affect.

I would consider cleaning it up, leaving all of the sealant as is, and then putting eternabond tape over all of the seams. There are lots of threads about eternabond tape. Its good stuff.
