Shower question

I never payed attention in the 4 years we have owned this motorhome, but last weekend I was noticing there is no silicone between the shower pan and the wall insert in my unit. Is that normal? The wall with the shower wand bows and flexes.

That's normal. The pan has a lip which goes up behind the wall. The gap is there to help keep condensation from building up behind the shower wall.
