Sumo Fronts

My wonderful neighbor installed the Sumo Springs at the back of my FR Solera (MB chassis 3500) today. I immediately took it for a test drive, and was pretty much astounded at how much difference they make in the handing of my little MH. But...I still noticed a little dipping in the front.

My question: Sumo offers 2 choices for the front: one with 500# compression at 50%, the other with 1000#.

Can anyone guide me as to how to make the best choice? Thanks!

(Class C newbie here...previously RVed in fifth wheels)

I have the blue 500 pound fronts. They will definitely take the dip out of cornering without making the front end jarring on rough roads . Steer seems more stable in the wind but that is more of an opinion. Good luck

I got the blue, very easy install. The Sumo definitely help with the side to side sway when moving over uneven surfaces.

I went with the Black 1000lbs for the front and couldn't be happier. When I called Sumo directly and spoke with their technical support, told them what I had and they recommended Yellows for the rear and Blacks for the front. Our rigs are heavy

I wish I could try the blacks to compare to the blues

I know what you mean, but I am happy with the blacks in the front. The ride is way better.

We have a Sunseeker 2400WS. Installed blue on front and black on rear. On our first trip after installation we both noticed how great the ride and handeling had improved (wow was the word most often used). Best upgrade ever.

Installed the SSF - 170 - 40 - 2 in the front blue 2pcs. Installed the SSR - 187 - 54 - 1 Yellows in the back.

YES they make a huge difference in driving, deliberately took a bouncier road back to the storage unit and it makes a huge difference in driving and handling. Drove down a 2 lane road I know Semi's drive down to feel the difference - again big difference.

I also installed a Road Master Master RSSA Reflex Stabilizer on the front.

Expensive but I did this in stages with the stabilizer on the front first then sumo springs next.

Hi, planning on installing front sumosprings. Did black ones in the rear last year. For the fronts: are the black springs more difficult to install than the blue springs? Based on the discussion here both spring densities seem to improve the ride. I'm inclined to go with the black 1000# springs, but was curious about installation challenges.
Thanks for the input!

after a 2000 mile RT, towing a 7x14' box for the 2nd 1/2 of the trip in a side wind/ tail wind, I just ordered the 1000 lb black fronts to replace the 500 lb blues.

if anybody is looking to buy sumo springs there is a 15% off discount at manufacture website supersprings.com using code workfromhome.

This was cheaper than anywhere else, and it has free shipping and no tax

The 1000 lb fronts removed even more sway, and wife said it did not change the ride. I recommend the black 1000 lb sumos for the front.

So looking at getting both fronts and rears...did anyone do the blacks in the rear. I already have a Hellwig sway bar back there...don't want to make it too stiff..thoughts?

I got black fronts Like a lot.

So be aware of the trade off. they stiffen the ride and take out the dip (I think the fronts made the most difference as I put them on later). However, the ride is stiffer so you get less rocking and you feel every bump a little more. I still am happy I did it. Of course my other car is a Vet with a track suspension package lol.
