On Preparations:
Examine what tools and repair hardware that may be useful. You probably have that figured from prior trips. Example: on our 110 day XCountry in 2018, the wardrobe hanger rack puled off from the heavy clothes. I had extra screws and battery drill to fix.
On Colorado:
I have been plotting out a late May to end of June trip from CA. Have booked already about three weeks and will add more when reservation windows open up. Rocky Mountain NP books fast at the 6 month window so if you are planning August, be ready to hop on recreation.gov. July probably is gone. Good state parks in CO. Also, some good Forest service that may be First Come or Reservable. I have a mix of dry camp, full and partial HU depending on length of stay.
