Setting up Seasonal

Hi Everyone;

We are new to the seasonal camping, and looking for some suggestions on how we should setup our camper, on blocks or 2x2 wood,

Thanks much

2x2 isn't very big wood blocks for cribbing. Are you sure that is what you meant?

I have a seasonal trailer on quite a sloping lot.

Start with 2 ft square patio stones, then concrete blocks, 2 by 8's flat as needed to bring close to level and finish with small shims of plywood as required. Our park model is 38 ft and a full 3 season trailer and we have 8 points it is resting on and also the tires in the middle and tongue jack in the front.

Cement blocks or wood cribbing are both adequate for putting under your rig at a seasonal site.
Like mentioned, if you do not have a concrete pad at your site, start with patio stones for a good large 'footprint' as a base. If you use wood cribbing to stack I would recommend 4"x4"s as opposed to the 2x2 and make sure it is pressure treated. Be sure you build enough piers to fully support your frame so it doesn't twist, bow or flex.

Make sure you put something under the tires too. We use 2X8 pieces of pressure treated wood.

Our trailer is on a seasonal site for the last two years. I have 8' lengths of 2" x 10" under the tires, patio stones under the stabilizers and a concrete block under the tongue jack. Our site is quite level so that does it for us. I didn't see the need to block up under the chassis due to the length of our trailer but our friends who own a 40' park model did and I would recommend the same. Just remember that if your trailer has stabilizers they are just that - do not use them to jack up your trailer to level it as you may/will twist the frame. What trailer do you have and how is your site for level?
