Not at all! Drill a couple holes, some pop rivets, use an existing bolt and SHAZAM! Done.

I concur. I'm not using the lower brackets anymore because I don't leave the poles attached. Did not like them sticking out further than the awning and restricting rear vision so use two Wooster paint extension poles and attach via the pins to the brackets, works great, detach and stick in the pass through storage. My son wants a set and I'm going to make them via flat stock and weld as opposed to spending that much for two stamped pieces but then again I like to weld (teaching myself how to TIG weld).

No, they are not difficult to install.
OC and Turbs were making bracket kits.
Here is a detailed thread by Turbs that explains the installation of the brackets. It is the same procedure for OC's brackets. Again, understand, OC is selling the bracket(s) only - NO poles. I'm pretty sure Turbs has moved on and no longer sells.

They don't need to be stamped or welded if you so choose to make your own.

These are made from a piece of aluminum channel. No welding required.Click image for larger version

I guess my mental capacity is gone(or never was). I have 2 wire welders(had a 295 DC stick and another wire---stolen), metal cutting band saw(not portaband, but cheap), chop saw, grinders, couple 3 torches, etc.. and I didn't think of this... oh well I made a small contribution to OC's retirement.

Also keep in mind for those coming late to the game...

The link OC posted is for a pole(s) that can be used with his bracket kits.

OC does not sell poles. He only sells brackets via PayPal and the link to the poles are simply an option to use with his brackets.

We've looked at those poles but the way they attached put the release 10ft in the air on our 5er.
