Look at the number after each post. It's located at the top, far right...

This is the link to post 2092.

http://www.forestriverforums.com/for...ml#post1657598

You have to click on the the post # itself and copy/paste that link.

Page #'s don't help because you can change the number of posts/page in your settings. I have mine set at 40/page so I only see 55 pages in this thread.

Are you sure that's the type of awning you have? Doing a search both on here and on google it seems that Sunbrella is a type of fabric.

The only types of awnings I know about for FR RVs are Dometic and Carefree.

It's a carefree awning, sorry I think I must have read the fabric on it.

OC has mentioned before that they will work on Carefree awnings.

Not OC, but I took out the two small screws holding the pole end's threaded extension. Removed the extension, they come out easily and then used the former small screw holes as a guide to drill out the hole for the new bolt connecting the pole to the bracket.

Does it matter what awning I have or are the brackets universal? I'd go with "ready to paint" since my awning is black.

Also, is there anything on here or youtube that shows how they work? Wanted to show a friend.

Are those poles as good as what Turbs was making? I sent him a message but haven't heard back.

Thanks

Greg

As far as I know, they work on both Dometic and Carefree awnings, but, I am sure O.C. will answer you soon.

As for Turbs, I ordered and got a reply from him back in October, but, still have not heard a word from him since he confirmed my order. I sent him an email a couple of weeks ago but no reply yet. Maybe he is sick or something. The painter's poles are probably stronger just not as pretty. At this point, I will most likely buy the painter's poles. Good luck

I'd love to have aluminum but would probably just do the painters poles. Says my Home Depot has them and less than Amazon so could just go there.

Been reading so the way they work is they store on the awning and then you unhook the bottom and it goes to the ground with a strap to a tie down. That right?

On a smaller scale we did something like this with PVC on a popup and the pole went back to the frame of the popup so no strap was necessary. I guess with the skirting on travel trailers nowhere to really attach like that. Too bad.

Having the pole go back and attach to the trailet: angle is all wrong for good strong support. Must go straight to the ground for proper support.

The poles save you from a down burst of wind. The tie down on the top of the poles save you when the wind wants to throw it over your camper. Very simple solution, just need to tie the awning to the poles and the tie down. The brackets sold here are the most universal solution. I have used them for three years on a TT and a 5er. I have watched others lose their awning while mine stay put. The brackets allow it all to fold up and lock for travel. That is the part most miss. You get the brackets for the top and the ones a the bottom for travel. Less the poles OC offers a complete package. Gheez OC needs to make a video.
