My part is finished, parts bead blasted, instructions & pole dwg printed and folded and now everything has been turned over to TOWTA for kitting.

Finally got to install my brackets I made and the poles made from swimming pool accessory poles. When you cut the poles using a tubing cutter it crimps the outer pole in a little making for a real good fit (no slop). Used a spring pin for the adjustment in the poles. Poles are perfect. Light weight and very sturdy Click image for larger version

Like the ones used in 'easy-up' shelters and highway sign legs.

McMaster Carr no less as supplier. Have not seen a catalogue of theirs in 35 years.

Old coot/ turbs
I was able to sue my brackets and the poles I made from swimming pool net poles. Everything worked great. Poles are very light weight but sturdy

Got caught off guard this morning by a freak coastal rain storm while still sleeping. My awning was still extended and rolling it up with the 29 mph winds was more dangerous than leaving it out. My custom made tie down poles made by my friend in Carolina kept it from being ripped off the side of the Rv. Once I caught a break in the storm I was able to safely roll it up. I got soaked but don't need to shower today. Thanks as always OC.Click image for larger version

Glad they worked as they are supposed too.

BTW, I still have bracket kits available for shipping today in case any of your friends/neighbors want them also!

Ok, I've seen enough posts and time to place my order, how much for top and bottom brackets? I'm sure I can find/make poles. Sounds as though my tie downs (cork screw dog anchor and ratchet straps aren't enough alone

I'm a newbie. I saw the awning hold-downs in use at the Branson rally. Are they sufficient to prevent having to roll up the awning during storms with big winds. The service manager at the dealer said one of their most common jobs is repairing awnings.
