Never had that issue but I can tell you the motors are like the ones for slideouts. That being said, they can come out of sync. I bring mine all the way up and hold for a few seconds and same when bringing it down. There could be other reasons for that, like one side quit for some reason letting one side continue until it jams.
Each side has one motor that get the power and then have a drive rod that goes down the side to the other motor. The motors next to the ramp are the drive units while the inboard ones are the slaves. You may have to check for 12v at the motors, I would start with the lower one first. Maybe you can remove power to the lower side and try to lower the bed.
The bed can be removed, but it's not a one person job. Hope it doesn't come to that.
