Riverstone as good as it looks?

Has anyone eyeballed one of these?

http://www.forestriverinc.com/product-details.aspx?LineID=335&Image=12434

Looks like Forest River's best offering since the 2013 and old style 2014 Trilogy’s. This new model seems to have most everything on the “next time list” at a very reasonable price for a luxury fiver.

True Induction RV Two Burner Cooktop

Goodyear 17.5″ tires 215/75R 17.5 H-rated 16-ply tires.

8000 lb Dexter® E-Z Lube® axles with disc brakes

Thermo pane windows are standard

And so on…

If it is as good as it looks on paper, very impressive.

I saw one at the Tulsa rv and boat show. It was pretty nice. Reminded me of a trilogy.

I dont remember what model it was, but show price was about $99k and i think sticker was in the $120s.
Didnt look real hard at it, as they dont offer bunkhouse models yet, but a very nice looking rig!

I like their approach which is also like the early years of the Trilogy, basically deck the units out completely with everything as Standard.

RIVERSTONE Luxury Fifth Wheels are offering what luxury is and that is convenience. RIVERSTONE has made almost every competitor's option a standard”

And that appears to be real, their site only shows two Options to choose from; hitch and second awning.

They are heavy, coming in at about 15,700 dry, and will require a 1 ton to haul, but for me, weight equates to quality.

Perhaps Forest River has an answer to DRV Mobile Suites, Redwood, etc. at a much better price.

With a GVWR of 18,900 pounds will a 3500 (350) manage that?
That is a 3780 pound pin weight.

I guess the new 3500 class duallies would be ok.

Reg cab, long box, 2wd dually ram 3500. 7500 payload!

But wow... That would be some ride empty!

Yep, but even my new gmc dually has a 4700+ payload capacity so that pin weight would be really close!

My dealer carried trilogy and has always had drv and lifestyles as well. The msrp on the riverstone is pretty close to those....and they have a had a pretty good reputation over the years.

Either way all of them are more than I'm going to spend on a camper.
At this point in our lifes, we need bunks for the kids. Plus our camper is just our lake house and a place to sleep after being on the water all day. I would rather put that money into getting another performance boat like a Cigarette, Skater or DCB!
But thats me, we'll see how the riverstone stacks up to the others!

If you are considering a Riverstone, I have a dealer for you down here in Alabama - it will be worth the drive and he is honest as the day is long!

If we were going to go 5er, we would be getting a Riverstone BTW!

I hope to get many more years from my Trilogy, but if I was in the market for a higher-end fiver, this would be the first to look at.

Hopefully, Riverstone will be marketed well enough for the sales to takeoff. It would be a shame for the line to disappear.

Forest River should be congratulated in their effort to make a higher quality, safer (H rated tires, disc brakes on 8,000 axles, etc.) fiver. With a “selling price” of $99,000 the actual price will likely be in the high $70,000’s.With all that these have on them, that is a great price, especially for a full-timer style coach.

IMO, just one modification, one piece fiberglass roof…well worth the $1,800 or so that other’s charge for the “option”.

Since Forest River bought out dynamax, and I have a Trilogy, I can see a lot of similarities between the two campers. I also see improvements that reflect on some of my early problems. If the same folks build this, I wouldn't buy one. Not enough quality control. My 2013 still has problems that I don't think they can fix.

Neighbor has one. He said it was "stickered" at around $130K. I believe he said he gave them about $100K for it. His on demand water heater made me wish they'd offer that option in all of them.

The Girard's GSWH-2 On-Demand Tankless comes as Standard...according to their site:

RIVERSTONE Fifth Wheels by Forest River RV

Found this video showing the build:

I would think that, if there are any remaining 2016's left this fall, they would be discounting at least to the low 80's.

They are going to be making some big changes to the 2017 Models. Unless you need a camper right now or get a killer deal on a 2016, I'd consider waiting
