Riverstone owners: what are the recurring build issues you’re seeing?

Specifically asking about the 2018-2019 models? We’re down to the DRV 44 HOUSTON or the Riverstone 3FK or RKFB. Posed a similar question to DRV owners and in their case it appears to be water system (Andersen) and water/wet/rotting slides.

I’m very familiar with the Andersen/Kantleak water system as I have it on my GDRV and it’s terrible. What system is Riverstone using, and are there known problems with it?

Many thanks.

I can't help you with the 18-19 model year, but our 16 38fb has been problem free for the past 3 years of full time living since the initial problems were resolved at the factory.

Our water system is by B&B and uses 5 quarter turn valves to manipulate the water.

That's the Nautilus system, correct? Which model do you have? They have the P1, P2, P2.5, P3, and P4. Thanks!

We have a 2019 Legacy 38MB and have been living in for over 5 months. Opted out of the tankless heater and went old school with the tank. Flawless. Rarely dry camp so electricity is not an issue (although I am tankless in my house due to efficiency). Bone dry unit (knock on wood). My punch list for warranty work is only 9 items or so., most of which I could probably do myself. Big items are floor creaks at both ends of the island, 2 slides need to be adjusted as they have marred the floor, and that darned fireplace control panel will flicker on and off even when not being used. Before we bought, we looked at DRV, Luxe, and Riverstone Legacy's. For the money, Riverstone was by far the winner. Plus their warranty guys are excellent. Just my opinion.

Thanks Rusty. The 39FK or 39 RKFB are on our VERY short list.

What didn't you like about the DRV, if I may ask?

We also have a 38MB but a 2017, only issue we had was the breaker for the slides kept tripping they upgraded and since no issues. One awning motor quit they replaced the awning but that was not a build issue, Other then that very happy with the River Stone!!!!!

There wasn't anything outstanding on the DVR that bugged me, but they were thousands over the Legacy and I just didn't see a bit of justification for it.

Our 2018 38FB2 has a Natilus P1 system, works great!!!

As others have said, no real issues with ours, have been full Tim in it since March 2018.

I am looking at an FB2 as well and am curious as to how many sewer hookups there are since it's a 2 bath model. I currently have a landmark and the legacy seems to be superior.

My 2016 38FB has just one sewer connection. All tanks drain into that one connection.

Just one sewer hook up, Waste Master is standard on the Legacy models.

We Fulltime in our RKFB; travel alot on the west coast. We love it! The only recurring issues we've seen (and see them on the fb forum as well) are very minor; not really build issues; ie, the motor out on the recliners (FR overnighted one immediately) the heater out in the!main fireplace.

The RKFB does have an issue with one of the shelves (next to fridge) collapsing, needs reinforcement, and we put in heavier locking things on cabinets, as they will pop open in transit if you dont. also, the slide motors need to be replaced with heavier duty one-thats a lippert issue. We did just have some screws break on the bedroom fireplace slide, just stopped by our dealer and they fixed in 15 mins. We've traveled thousands of miles so far, really happy with it!

The search is over. We’ve decided on the 39FK. Condo is “sale pending”. No issues, awaiting appraisal, then closing mid-May.

Order will be going in on closure date.

Thanks to everyone who helped guide us through the process. Your comments in this thread really sealed the deal for us.

Jim, congrats on your choice you will love the River Stone. Who is the lucky dealer you will be dealing with as I am sure you know that matters a lot, I know you will be traveling so the service after the sale might not be that handy but some dealers are better delivering your brand new home then others.

After a great deal of deliberation, we've decided that we're going with Jeff Couch. I've worked with them for close to six months asking questions, getting answers from the manufacturer, etc. They've been extremely responsive to all my queries.

We have quite a few customization items that we want to have done by both the factory as well as aftermarket. Tom Ewing from Riverstone has been very responsive as well. I'd ask a question to my sales person, and within minutes I had an answer - if only to say "I'm forwarding this on to Tom".

I'm going into this eyes wide open WRT service after the sale.

Jim, I have heard good things from folks who dealt with Couch and I got to meet Tom last year while in Goshen for the rally and also at the Hershey show he is very helpful. Also heard of a good salesman at Terry Town who is doing well with River Stone sales and communicating with special things on custom orders so sounds like the factory is willing to stray a little when asked.

I have heard good things about them but more to the side of the units they have refurbished. I have heard a rumor they might be closing part of it down but to which part that I do not know. If I was in the market for a new unit and lived close enough or they offered a really good deal I wouldn't hesitate to buy there. Good luck on your choice and keep us posted.

On the 38fb2 only one sewer connector to deal with . Black pipes aren’t exposed
