Trash Can Question

Hello! Have a 2022 Riverstone 39RKFB. I orginally loved that the trash was "hidden" in an outdoor compartment, but after living with it for a little bit I'm finding it difficult. The trash can is too small...so oftentimes trash gets tossed in the countertop hole, misses the can, and gets the compartment disgusting.

Does anyone have a model/type of trash can that works to mitigate that issue?

Thanks!

We use a standard 13gal kitchen trash can. I set it up on top of a plastic storage box that brings it right up to the underside of the counter.
We love it !

As Ken suggested, fit it tight to the underside of the counter.

same for me but being in the AC business I had my sheet metal shop make a custom rectangular can that is about 3" shorter than the door and just clears it, takes up most of the cabinet and still fits a tall can liner. It's just short enough to allow access to throw stuff away from outside but catches most of the trash dropped through the counter. We love it. The bigger can goes for a few days between dumps, the OEM plastic one was a daily exercise.

Measure and draw it up if you have a sheet metal shop close by. I had them hem the top for rigidity and safety.
