AC won't turn on

Hello all. I apologize if this is a repeat question. Feel free to direct me to a thread.
I bought the camper (nobo 16.7) two years ago, tested the ac when I bought it, but haven't used it since. I'm in the desert of southern New Mexico and could really use some AC. When I turn the unit on using the thermostat (no switched on the unit), I can hear a click on the unit, but nothing happens. I got on the roof and checked all the connections and all looked good. I forgot to bring my multimeter, but could go buy one if someone could suggest or send me a link to a good troubleshooting process. I've done a little reading and wonder if the starting capacitor could be bad. Can they go bad even if you never use them? Thanks for any help.

Stupid question... was it working when you bought it? Have you checked the circuit breakers? Unfortunately, I don't know how to help, but the manufacturer might have a manual on their website.

You say that you're in the desert. Are you plugged into shore power or a generator?
Moved thread to the No Boundaries sub-forum.

I'm at a military base campground and plugged into shore power. The unit worked when I bought the camper 2 years ago. I've also checked the breakers located in the power converter.

i'm not an expert on this.

can you turn the fan on? this would at least prove that it was getting 120 volt power.

There is no switch on the unit for fan. I'm not sure if there's a fan only option on the digital thermostat
