Range hood

We have a 2022 F. R. IBEX. We are changing range hood but the wires in the camper are orange and white. The new hood has black and red and white. Can someone tell me where the black connects and the red connects. Hope this makes sense. Thanks

The range hood in the camper is only 12 DC Volts. There are two things in there a light and a fan.

Do you have a meter? You need to find out on the camper side what is neg and pos.

The Red would be Pos and the Black would be Neg on the range hood.

Worst that would happen is the fan will blow into the camper instead of sucking the air out. The light may still work depending if it's LED. Most LED light do care about Pos and Neg.

If I were to guess... I would say the Orange wire is the pos from the camper but I'm guessing.

Using a DVM or analog volt meter, measure the voltage between the two wires in the camper. It should be about 12 volts DC and it is important to note which is the positive and which is the negative.

There should be instructions and hopefully a diagram of the new hood wiring requirements.

Hopefully, you purchased a 12-volt DC RV hood and not a 120-volt AC residential hood. They are by no means compatible.
