Avoid those closed NFS campsites.

Yep. I drive through the Kisatchie Ranger District of kisatchie national Forest in North West LA this week. All campgrounds were roped off. The bathroom were locked up. Even the vault toilet beside the road was locked up.

From the document "Any violation of this prohibition is punishable as a Class B misdemeanor by a fine of
not more than $5,000 for individuals and $10,000 for organizations, or by
imprisonment for not more than six (6) months, or both (see 16 U.S.C. § 551,
18 U.S.C. § 357l(b)(6), 18 U.S.C. § 3581(b)(7))."

A fine, jail time or both..... and closed til June 30th unless it's recinded.

They really are taking this seriously.

Heard yesterday they are asking people in this area not to hike the Appalachian Trail as it was becoming to crowded and not possible to "social distance".

Last week the media was suggesting it........

The first line of the document says: “Entering or using a developed recreation site or portion thereof.”

Seems to me that camping in a developed campsite in a National Forest is entering and using a developed recreation area, so it’s not misleading. Are there undeveloped areas where people camp?

Not misleading at all. The operative word is "occupancy". Doesn't matter what you're doing there, just being there is a violation, and the consequences are spelled out.

And what are we going to do to them?

RVers don't NEED to go camping unless they are full timers. If so, find some place to stay and stay there.

You make it sound sooo easy for us full-timers to find a spot....

Maybe you fail to realize that there are over 1M full-timers and a HUGH majority are slowly being shut out of areas that are our normal “go-to” spots this time of the year and on into Spring/Summer....

If you really think about it, most Federally operated CG’s ( COE, BLM, NFCG, Dispersed) are perfect places for a RV to “shelter in place” ....

This is my opinion as well. All the campsites are more than the 6' of social distancing. Camp hosts should not have to much exposure. Not like the essential workers at Circle K or Home Depot or Harbor Freight Tools or the grocery stores where hundreds of people roll in and out everyday.

We got refunds sent for our two different weeks one at the end of April and one week at the end of May. So now wth, we get to take vacation pto off to do home imporvement like all our neighbors who don't have essential jobs are doing now. Nice.
