Some lethal viruses really like warmer, humid, weather.

One thing to consider is that during our winter months people tend to stay indoors and closer to others than during warm summer months when they spend more time outdoors.

Since much is still unknown about this virus scientists aren't certain that summer will kill it off, if it will continue on, or if it will merely go on vacation before making a comeback in the fall.
