I noticed that my local Walmart has implemented some rationing of "essentials". Go through the check stand with a cart full of TP, Paper Towels, soup, pasta, flour, etc and they checker will only allow the purchase of a small amount, the rest being re-stocked.
NO Government regulation necessary, just some help from the merchants to spread the supply out and let their distribution system catch up.
I recall panic buying in another commodity that can't be discussed here. Problem was that people bought up in one month as much product as factories produced in over a year. If people just bought what they needed for only the next month or so, no shortages would have occurred.
TP and Paper towels may not have an expiration date but many food items do. Hope people pay attention and down the road don't eat that can of canned peaches with bulged ends
