Baja Mexico

anybody traveled or travelling to Baja Mexico this winter? We are currently in Florida building a new house and will be homeless from January to May. Diesel Coachman 24J prism.

There are lots of American's that go every yr . some go in groups others not . there are American communities down there and are very welcoming . I was looking into it a few yrs back but do a search .

It might be better to say that there are some Mexican communities comprised of a large US citizen population.
Lots of folks do go to Mexico for the cheap prices and local hospitality.
Some folks never have any problems, and some folks do. I and several friends have been on both sides of that coin.
Be sure to look into medical/insurance options before you go
The scary part is that once there is a problem, you have absolutely no recourse. Better have lots of cash for bribes.
For me, there is nothing in Mexico worth going down there for, especially now.

My brother just left for a 5 week trip. He is over by Guadalajara.
Mexico is a civilized culture but you must avoid the drug trade.
This is a great time to get out of the US for awhile.
Hispanic culture is basically polite and easy to deal with.
I have spent plenty of time in Mexico and some in South America, Peru and Bolivia.
Americans live in a violent society but fear Latin culture in irrational ways.

Yep, it's irrational until it happens to you.
As far as 'fear of Latin culture', I'm not sure what you mean. Most of the SW (especially where I live) IS 'Latin culture'. Most of my family is hispanic.
I will admit the interior of Mexico is more 'civilized' than the coasts or borders. I prefer to spend my leisure time where I don't have to have my head on a swivel 24/7.
And purposefully avoiding trouble is a good idea, but sometimes it still finds you. Like paying $8k in bribes because the wife of the chief of police hits your vehicle and says it was your fault. Or spending the night in jail because an empty gas can flew out of the back of a truck and police arrested you until someone can come up with the huge littering 'fine', even though you were stopping to pick it up. Or take a tour bus that has to stop at every checkpoint to allow soldiers with machine guns to rifle through your belongings and see if they can antagonize you. Or unknowingly deciding to eat in a restaurant that has a drug deal going on in it. That will ruin your peaceful Mexican experience.
But I have spent many enjoyable weeks in Mexico where nothing untoward happened. I just choose to not take the chance down there anymore, especially in the current political and social climate.

Sounds like you're describing America .
Things can happen anywhere . plenty of rv'ers head down to Baja spending their money and are pretty well protected by the local police , and drug cartels as it's American money they are spending . Mexico is not much different then the US people living , working , vacationing , playing . I've never had issues the few times i went but it wasn't in an rv . Those crossing the boarder and boarder towns have the worst reps but once in state things are not much different .
