Canadian border status?

Has anyone attempted to cross the border into Canada yet? I'm now hearing the border closures may be extended until late June. Was planning to leave for Alaska soon. Thanks.

The current travel restrictions, allowing only commerce and essential worker travel, will expire May 21, but there is talk that the the Canadian federal government is considering extending the restrictions for another month. Discussions between both both countries are ongoing.

It was just announced the Border will remain closed through June 21.

Correct, and that is simply a 30 day renewal of previous agreement. It may get extended beyond that, depending on how things are going and what the 2 countries agree to.

Just a reminder this a unilateral agreement to close the Border not just Canada. Many Provinces are asking for longer than June 21st, possibly another month.
