The simple solution is to do both.



Iowa State Parks are open. Bathrooms are not open yet. (This is normal.) All sites are "walk-up" until April 1st and reservable starting then. Bathrooms are scheduled to open then, also.

Washington State Parks are all open (the ones that are open this time of year)
but with the usual restrictions one might expect. Group activities and anything involving inadequate "distancing" are cancelled/restricted.

Weather is starting to moderate so lots of opportunities for Spring Camping from the Deep Woods to Ocean Beaches.

Currently, all SC State Park Campgrounds and Cabins are open. You are best to be paid up before arrival or have cash to place in the drop box. Visitors centers and stores are closed. Rangers will be patrolling. Use sanitary precautions in high traffic areas. For more to the SC Parks web site.

I don’t know if it’s nationwide but in Georgia the COE campgrounds are no longer taking reservations. One that I know for sure about is requiring all to leave by this weekend.

Funny thing is that all the volunteers and work campers are allowed to stay. Maybe that means the closures are not expected to last very long. We’ll see.

Moab Utah and surrounding area, public lands are CLOSED. Of course, that includes Arches National Park.

Koa in Nashville Tn emailed me today. They are open only to tent and rv camping, common areas are closed.

8 of the 9 counties around the bay are shelter in place, Unnecessary travel has been band. Last night they were threatening marshal law! All the parks ,hiking trails, anything for the public use , bike trails, are closed, and is considered trespassing if caught on them! We are Waiting one more week. to make sure 2 households are covid19 free, and we are getting the hell out of here, to our cabin in the Sierras! Buying food and supplies is crazy!

Found on another web site: "The area around Moab is closed. RV parks, and all camping on public or private lands within Carbon, Emery, and Grand Counties are closed. Only essential Essential Visitors (those working in the county) and Primary Residents may utilize public lands for primitive camping purposes. No camp shall be located within 200 yards of another camp and no camp shall consist of more than 10 people."

Hunter Cove COE CG at Harlan County Lake In Nebraska and Prairie Flower COE CG at Saylorville Lake in Iowa are taking reservations after May 1st. And Santa Fe COE CG at Council Grove Lake in Kansas is taking reservations after April 15th.

My reservations at Harlan County Lake and Council Grove Lake in May have not been cancelled. At least not yet.

Dockweiler State Beach RV Park in west Los Angeles, CA is closed. The city is planning on using it as a “quarantine area.”

Nevada just shut down all “non-essential” businesses including all casinos, restaurants; closed or take-out only. All ski resorts shut down in the Sierras and LA area too.

I have a few reservations for C.O.E. Parks on my way back to Wisconsin in a few weeks. Recreation.gov indicates if your park is closed an e-mail will be sent.
Wash your hands and safe travel to all.

TX state parks open and most individual parks. Less ranger services, EX-programs, activities. Suggest taking extra TP, soap and paper towels. Just spoke to someone coming back from Palo Duro, open w/o reservations.
