Although Washington State parks are still open to camping a volunteer camp host working since March 1 at Bayview State Park has tested positive with COVID-19.

I've got a bad feeling about this.

US National Parks. Got a notice from recreation.gov today that our Great Smoky Mountains national park reservation is canceled, as are all national park campground reservations through 4/30.

So, let’s see. If everyone would stay home and not use the state parks, Oregon would keep them open. Reverse supply and demand at its finest!
(I know, I know. It’s happening everywhere. It’s just this headline that really struck me.)

Correct.

Many private campgrounds remain open.

We are on our trek back to PA from FL and there are lots of campgrounds open. We have checked with about 8 in 4 different states so far and all have said come on in!

Rest areas are open in GA, SC, NC, VA and WV.

We did not use their facilities so I can't comment on that as we simply used our 5th wheel's facilities but we stopped and parked. (they were all VERY busy)

They will all be closed a lot longer than April 30th, until people take social distancing seriously the virus will continue to spread.

Very true. Wake up people! We saw big crowds at Scenic Beach State Park ignoring this. We go there for a walk with our dog daily and have noticed more and more people gathering and camping. The ranger, Steve, and staff were overworked trying to prevent disease spread.

Ohio State Parks Closed!

As of 3/24/2020 our Beloved Governor Rino has ordered all State Parks Facilities closed indefinitely. This includes Cottages, Campgrounds, Boating Facilities, Shower Houses, Concessions, and just about any other building that can hold one or more people, including Pit Latrines. No date set for reopening, so camping is done for the foreseeable future. Anyone know of private parks open for walk ins?

Interesting.

So far Virginia State Parks are still open but their visitor centers are closed.
