Coronavirus closed parks and camping areas.

We are going to try and use this thread to hopefully alert our fellow Rv'ers on places that are closed due to this. Please title your post with the state/city/place of the closure...to make it easy for those using the full site to see where. Do not use this thread for general chit chat, as those will be deleted. Tis is just going to be a list that can be quickly read and may help out fellow travelers.

We can also edit your future posts, if more closing become evident in the same locale. I may try and make an alphabetical list once we get responses. Thanks

Just received offical notification that all Illinois state parks are closed until March 30th. But it includes the following;

As this situation progresses, we will keep you informed of any updates and changes that may affect any current and future reservations.

We have reservations the end of April, see if that happens.

I am going to open a plea to NOT use a title in your post to list the location. (or other important info)

Please put all information within the post itself.

Those using apps on mobile devices DO NOT see individual post titles so it would be possible for some folks to miss some very important information.

Thanks!
Tim

Illinois State Parks were reported to be closed. I confirmed in person that Clinton Lake State Recreation Area has closed the campground, day use areas, trails, and all boat ramps.

All Pennsylvania rest area facilities on the Interstates and the Turnpike are closed effective 12:01 AM Tuesday, March 17, 2020.

The entrances and exits are blocked on the Interstates but for now, you can still park at rest areas on the Turnpike. The reports said that may change.

They have also suspended any construction projects.

Pennsylvania State Parks and Forests Facility Closures

The public can access trails, lakes, roads, and parking for passive and dispersed recreation, such as hiking; however, all facilities at state parks and forests in Pennsylvania will be closed for 14 days effective Tuesday, March 17, to help slow the spread of the COVID-19 virus.

Closed facilities include:

Park and forest offices and visitor centers
Restrooms
Campgrounds, cabins, and all forms of overnight accommodations, including the Nature Inn
Public programs, events, and trainings are canceled
We encourage practicing social distancing while enjoying open spaces avoiding groups and crowds, and visitors should be respectful of our natural places and use the bathroom before they leave home.

We will be providing full refunds on all reservable facilities, such as campsites, cabins, cottages, pavilions, lodges, and the Nature Inn, for the next two weeks.

State park visitors with reservations will be contacted regarding refund procedures.

Learn more about the statewide state parks and forests facility closures.

California Closes all CA State Park Campgrounds

March 17, 2020

California State Parks announced today the temporary closure of all campgrounds in the state park system to support state and local efforts to slow the spread of COVID-19 (coronavirus).

Camping reservation holders will be contacted via email for refunds.

As of today, non-campground outdoor areas of parks, including trails and beaches, remain open. Visitors are reminded to practice social distancing and maintain at least six feet between other visitors and anyone who is coughing or sneezing. Restrooms also remain open, and visitors are advised to take soap for hand washing and alcohol-based hand sanitizers when water is not available.

State Parks previously announced the closure of high public use indoor facilities including visitor centers, museums and cafes.
