From Granite Hill a Private PA Campground

Received this email from Granite Hill, a privately owned PA campground.
A little back story... they originally closed when the PA mandate came out... then applied for exemption (and was granted or determined it was essential) and now the decision to close the campground side to the public. Some people are doing the right thing. Stay home.

Greetings To Our Granite Hill Friends & Family,

We hope this message finds you well. These are clearly uncertain times and all of us are attempting to adjust to the new reality facing our camping community and quite frankly, the country at large. We have been closely monitoring the unfolding COVID-19 crisis as it develops, with a particular eye towards the situation in Pennsylvania and Adams County.

It has become increasingly clear that the most important thing at this time is the health and safety of all. As such, we have made the extremely painful decision to suspend normal operations effective immediately. Our RV park is deemed life-sustaining for the segment of our population who are full-time RVers. We are also deemed life-sustaining because we sell propane, water, ice, groceries, and carryout food & beverages. We remain open and available for those in need of these services and products. Please call and leave a message and we will call you back to make arrangements.

We were so looking forward to opening day and showcasing all the hard work our tremendous employees have logged over the winter. The facility never looked better! We simply can't thank them enough and are so proud of all they do for us and you. While this is a tremendous disappointment for a family campground that has been in operation every year since 1972 we are asking everyone who has a reservation for the next few weeks to please stay safe and stay at home! We will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as we develop our operations plan with the intention of resuming normal operations when it is safe to do so.

Rest assured, we will honor all outstanding reservations, whether it be in the form of a postponement, reschedule, credit, or refund.

We sincerely appreciate your support, both in the past, present and the future and ask for your patience as we work through this.

We will continue calling everyone who has reservations in April first. We hope you will find future dates this summer or fall or even next April for your camping trip. If you don't have dates in mind at this time your reservation and deposit will remain in our system and will be available for the future.

We are all in this together and we will come through this together!

Be Safe, Be Well and Take Good Care.

Sincerely,

Cyndie and Rich

Agree. I wish my PA campground would treat their customers in such a nice and sincere manner.

We have stayed there many times and also gone to many of the the bluegrass festivals they have there.

It is a GREAT campground and good folks.

I will continue to support them whenever they can open back up.
